Homelessness Advisory Committee
Welcome to the Kings County Homelessness Advisory Committee News Board
The Kings County Homelessness Coordinating Committee is established
to provide leadership, strategic advice, and coordination in the community’s efforts to prevent, and end homelessness.
The Committee serves as the primary table for cross-sector collaboration, ensuring that local homelessness responses are data-driven, coordinated, and aligned with the principles of Housing First.
The Committee explicitly acknowledges the concerns and impacts of homelessness on the broader community, including residents and businesses, supporting possible interventions and solutions.

Join us in our efforts to help our community.
Who We Are
The Kings County Homelessness Advisory Committee is a collaborative leadership group dedicated to preventing and ending homelessness through strategic advice and community coordination. We bring together a diverse team of 12–15 members—including service providers, public systems, and individuals with lived experience—to ensure local responses are data-driven and rooted in the Housing First principle that housing is a basic human right. By facilitating cross-sector partnerships and active engagement, we work to identify compassionate, sustainable solutions that support both our unhoused neighbours and the well-being of Kings County residents and businesses.

Our Focus
Housing & Support
Guided by the Housing First principle, we treat housing as a basic human right. We work to expand local housing options and ensure that substance use or mental health challenges never disqualify someone from receiving the support they need to remain housed.
Community Integration
We strive to build mutual understanding and goodwill between our unhoused neighbours and the broader community. By educating the public and engaging with local businesses and residents, we work to create a more inclusive Kings County for everyone.
Health & Wellness
Through dedicated focus on Mental Health and Addictions, we coordinate with specialist providers to address the root causes of instability. Our goal is to ensure that healthcare and recovery systems are designed around the actual needs of the individual.
